Q

Is it possible to save a newly planted tree that someone forget to water for a week?

This was a new, healthy redbud and an identicial tree planted at the same time which was watered is fine. This one the leaves are all dead. Is there anything special that can be done to revive it?

Answer

If the leaves are all dead it proably will not recover. Cut some twigs off to see if they are completely dried out. Water the tree well two times a week and be aware of excessive rainfall which would eliminate watering. It's worth waiting to see if it puts out new leaves.
