Hydrangea in outdoor container, very sunny area...but lots of little mushrooms in the soil and plants not doing well. Thoughts?

Dear Gardener:  The mushrooms are not an issue, but do mean that you are probably keeping the soil moist, which is important.  Hydrangea like moisture.  However, the plant may be "pot bound" and thus stressed.  If the plant has been in the same container for a long time, it may need repotting to a larger pot with fresh soil.
