Is there an organic way to get rid of creeping charlie?

I live near Darby Creek and would prefer not to use chemicals, if possible. This weed has taken over my very large lawn areas

Shade it to death by laying several layers of heavy cardboard and large rocks to prevent the cardboard from blowing away. Don't allow any sun to reach the creeping Charlie. Take a look at it after a week or two to see if it is all dead. When it is dead remove the  material with a rake and reseed with grass seed.
