Answer

A cold frame can be used to extend the growing season of plants before planting out in the garden. Tender tropical plants should be planted or moved outside when the temperature is warm.

You can grow vegetables in the cold frame, but you will not be able to grow a lot because of its size limitations. Seeds can be planted directly in the cold frame about a month or so before you can plant them out in the ground, but you must open the lid on warm sunny days.
