Can you identify this tree: This time of year it is sporting red berries, small leaves not lobed or serrated, multi-trunked with shreddy bark.

Leaves opposite about 1-1/2" long?

Your description doesn't tell me everything I need to know, but I do think your plant is Amur honeysuckle, an attractive plant that has become an invasive species. Go to the reference below and take a look at the pictures to see if my guess is correct. You can copy the link into your browser.
