Answer

Starting with huge down to large, you can plant banana trees in very large containers, less large but still dramatic, brugmansia (angel's trumpet) or daturas are both hansome and easy to care for tropicals with huge white, purple, pink or yellow flowers. They produce a toxin but as long as you don't eat them or let the sap enter your system through cuts or rubbing your eyes they are not a problem. Not good where there are small children or plant-eating pets. Hibiscus trees are another option at 3-4' high they bloom consistently all summer.
