Can you suggest wedding flowers for me to grow?

I am getting married in October 2012, and to save on hiring a florist, I want to grow my own herbs and flowers for the bouquets and very small arrangements I am going to make for the tables. I was wondering if you could suggest some flowers that would be blooming at that time and when I should plant them. I am looking for flowers besides your usual Chrysanthemums and Asters, although I most likely will be using them as well. For greenery I plan on using sage, rosemary and dusty miller, which I already have planted and will be planting more.

Answer

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.  How nice that you will be doing your own flowers; they will be very special.  Cockscomb, gerbera daisies and Chinese bellflower come to mind, along with chrysanthemums and many varieties of aster.  See the link below for a  lengthy plant list that will give you other ideas. Good luck and happy planting.
