Would you advise pruning back my Clematis (Jackmanii) now?
I usually prune in March, the 7th of that month being the earliest I have done. However, yesterday I saw buds already appearing. What do you think? Safe to prune?

The Jackmanii group of Clematis bloom on the current season’s growth (as opposed to blooming on last year’s growth) so you should be safe pruning now particularly since our winter has been so warm and has caused early bud formation.
