Is it safe to grow vegetables in raised beds made of pressure-treated lumber?

Answer

Whenever possible we steer people away from using pressure treated wood. Although the treatments are less toxic now than in years past, we feel it's still best to err on the side of caution.  Of course, it means you'll be rebuilding your beds in 4 or 5 years, but that's a good time to re-evaluate your garden design anyway!
