Q. How do find information about the Junior Flower Show?
There is some exciting news for the future of the Junior Flower Show. In an effort to reach more students and make participation less complex and demanding for teachers, PHS will take the Junior Flower Show directly into the schools for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year.
What does this mean? Teachers will no longer need to transport their students’ entries to a distant location. Rather PHS will provide teachers with a Tool Kit that will enable them to host a Junior Flower Show within their school. PHS will plan the theme for the Show, generate booklets with artistic, horticultural classes as well as classroom projects, provide entry tags, ribbons, etc., and send judges to the schools to award ribbons. “Best of Show” winners will then be invited to display their entries in a special section of the Horticort at the Philadelphia Flower Show.
Another advantage to taking the Junior Flower Show on the road is that each school can select the date to host the Show…. a date that works with the school calendar. This can be a date in conjunction with a Back to School night/School play, music recital, end of year assembly, etc.
For Home Schoolers and individuals interested in participating, PHS will host a mini version of the Junior Flower Show in the Library of PHS Headquarters.
