Why have the squirrels gone after the very green berry bunches - leaving pulverized green hulls all over the terrace - of dogwood ( cornus florida ).

Wow, Susan, you are having quite a time of it! I have found that the squirrels and deer have been particularly aggressive and damaging this summer and fall. The squirrels are after the succulent seeds inside as they are preparing for the winter. I am wondering if these animals' behavior portends an early, bad winter. There isn't much you can do about this situation other than relocate the squirrels, or have a professional do it. There are some meshes that you can cover the trees with but be sure they say squirrel resistant. Good luck! Elise
