if I cut off the growing tip of a branch on my brown turkey fig (NJ) will the fruit ripen sooner?

Figs won't ripen on the tree if the tree is stressed. Feed the tree with fertilizer regularily and make sure it is well watered especially in hot dry weather. It can take as long as 2 months.
