Q. How to enter my son's 2 ft. lemon tree in the flower show this year? We have never entered anything before. Please, I need your help.

My son would like to enter his small lemon tree in the Philadelphia Flower Show. He has been preparing this since last year's Flower Show. We met a wonderful volunteer at the membership booth who was so impressed with my son's love of plants. She said she would love to see him enter one of his plants in 2015. So my son has been on a quest ever since and grew this lemon tree. He watches over it every day. Please, I need help in figuring out how would I begin to sign up, enter him for this year's Flower Show. I go to the Flower Show every year, but I don't know the first thing about entering a plant. I would greatly appreciate any help you may be able to give. Thank you. My son has worked so hard on this and I would like to see him succeed. He has been in our local papers on many occasions for his plants and his interest.

Answer

It's great that your son is planning to enter a plant at the 2015 Philadelphia Flower Show. Please go to this page on the show website:

Exhibit at the Flower Show

and read information on that page. You will need to download and  read the Exhibitor's Guide for the 2015 Show in order to figure out what class to enter the plant in.

After reading the guide, and if you have additional questions, please contact fsguide@pennhort.org

Hope this helps. Good luck!
