How do I learn how to plant trees?

Answer

Become a PHS Tree Tender! A Tree Tender is anyone who has completed the nine hours of hands-on tree care training that PHS provides throughout the year. Training covers tree biology, identification, planting, proper care, and working within your community. See the Tree Tender link below for more information.

Watch these PHS videos to guide you through the tree planting process.

Once you've gotten hooked into the wonderful world of trees, you will find that learning about them is a fascinating subject!  Expand your knowledge by consulting our subject guides on trees -- "Community Forestry," "Urban Trees," "Trees," and even our subject guide called "Botanist's Book Shelf" -- a list of "must read" books for the lifelong learner.  These guides are created by the librarians of PHS's McLean Library. They contain "best of" selections of books and web links on gardening and greening subjects.
