Are Papaver somniferum poppies legal in Pennsylvania?
I just bought poppy seeds online for my garden, not knowing much about them except what I read about planting. Now I'm thinking, are they legal in PA? I just wanted them as an ornamental plant in the flower bed in front of my house and now I'm not sure if they're even legal after reading a little bit about them online.
P.S. Becoming a member soon, I've recently just found out about PHS.

Strictly speaking, growing Papaver somniferum poppies is illegal in the US. However, the law is not enforced when the plant is grown as an ornamental in public or private gardens. For details, see the wikipedia article cited below.
