When can I prune burning bushes?

Answer

Dear Diane:  You can safely prune Burning Bush, Euonymous alatus, anytime between October and mid July.  If you are interested in the berries, prune in the late fall so that you do not cut off the floweres and the berries that eventually will be forming.  However, Burning Bush is usually grown for its fall color as the berries are rather insignificant.
