When was the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society founded?

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society was organized at a meeting held on November 24, 1827. The Society started with a membership of fifty-three.  The Society’s library, created in October 1828, is PHS’s project of longest duration. Its first public flower show was held in June, 1829.
