What is killing off the English boxwood on the Main Line and Phila. area?
This is not winter dieback and has been ongoing over 4 or 5 years. Sections turn pale then yellow and die. I can find no insects, scale or signs of infestation. My beds are mulched and composted.
Answer
English boxwood has been being killed off for several years by boxwood anthracnose.
A successful control has not been found. The diseased parts can be cut out but will not regrow.
