Which vegetables would you recommend for me to plant in containers in my small city back yard for fall, and when should I plant them?

Answer

It is getting a little late for some of the vegetables, but you can probably have success with arugula, the lettuces, spinach and maybe kale.  Next year, start at the end of August with some seedlings of broccoli, beets, turnips and Swiss chard.
