I am an experienced rose gardener but I transplanted a rose and it is "limping along."

It grows slowly and does flower. I have improved the soil in the new location and fed as instructed. Suggestions?

Answer

Dear Nancy:  I suspect the plant's roots are adjusting to the transplanting.  Roses are difficult to transplant and the fact that you have succeeded so far is a good sign.  Continue with the good rose gardening practices that you have been using and the plant will probably return to good health once the root system has recovered.
