What time of year is best to prune a pear tree?
Answer
It is best to prune pear trees early in spring before active growth begins. Cut back spurs on the lateral branches to 6 inches for best pear production. If you are not familiar with where to make the cuts, watch this video How to Prune a Mature Pear Tree in Early Spring or google "pruning pear trees" and view one of the many videos describing the process.
