We recently bought a property that has a large maple (not Japanese) that has red, green and variegated red-green leaves on the same tree.

What is this? The tree appears very healthy. New growth is all red, all green or variegated, sometimes on the same branch. The tree looks very healthy and is quite beautiful. Is this normal, or an unusual variety?

Answer

Please send us a picture or mail or bring in  at least a 4" sample as there are many types of maples.
