Why are the chipmunks back to digging in my pots now ? I have camphor atop the soil, to no avail.
Answer
Hi Susan, the chipmunks may be after grubs, or burying something, or trying to establish a new home. Sometimes you have to cover the pots with wire mesh of some sort. There also seem to be multitudes of them this year. The wildlife seem to be especially aggressive around my yard, as mentioned before, with them eating plants that they haven't bothered before, even with spraying. The camphor smell may have dissipated, and some people use moth balls (Enoz) but they aren't really good for the plants. Napthalene is also quite toxic to breathe and handle. Have you considered a professional wildlife removal specialist? Best of luck. Elise
