If a young night blooming cereus plant's leaf snaps at the end, how should I care for it?

While transporting the plant, the leaf bent and didn't snap off, but it is damaged. Should I snap off the end of the leaf or try to elevate it so it may re-connect?

The leaves of the Night Blooming Cereus snap easily! By now, the tissues at the break are beginning to heal over so I don’t think the leaf will heal together any longer.  I would just remove the broken off portion.
