Happy May! Maybe you tell me why my tomato flowers (planted two weeks ago) are dying?

Why are the flowers on my Cherokee tomato plant wilting with no fruit yet? Is there any food I can give the tomatoes to help? I also have cherry tomatoes, also planted two weeks ago that already have small fruits. Is it too early?

Answer

Dear Gardener:  It is too early for the tomato plants to be setting fruit.  After this week of heat the non-fruiting but flowering plants will probably begin to think of setting fruit.  The plants that are setting fruit probably had been in a greenhouse and began the fruiting process when they were warmer.   Summer and good tomatoes will come soon!
