Is my azalea dead if it has color near the base but looks a dead elsewhere? Could it just be a late blooming variety?
Answer
The Azalea has severe winter kill or may have completely died over the winter. I would leave it for a while to determine how far the branches have died back or if the plant is still alive. It may not bloom this year. even if it is alive. It could be a late blooming variety, but you should be seeing life at this point.
