I planted some beet seeds too close together so some are now growing in clumps. Should I separate and replant them? Also, I planted some red onions. I can see some little red onions in the ground. Will they grow to a grocery story size if left in the ground longer? Thank you.

Answer

I left you a voice mail message this morning about your question.  Yes, separate the beet plants and use them now if beets have already formed.  They will be very sweet. If you want to replant, I think that would work.  Or you may use the leves alone in many dishes.  And yes, the onions will increase in size, but as I told you in the message, don't leave them in the ground after the leaves begin to yellow.  Enjoy!
