I have a Kazwan cherry that has a split trunk and roots are growing out of it about two feet from the ground.

Since this started the tree still blooms. However, the leaves that follow only cover about 1/2 of the area that used to be covered.
What should I do?

Answer

Kwanzan cherries frequently split the bark.  It would be best to consult with a tree company to see if the tree can be saved.
