I have an oakleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia) in a whiskey barrel on my 2nd floor deck in Philadelphia.

This is its first year. How can I overwinter this plant to keep it alive? I could bring it inside-would that make sense?

Answer

Oakleaf hydrangeas are hardy in this area.  It should not be brought inside.  It ishould be fine on the deck but best kept out of the wind.
