How should I protect a dwarf cherry tree (5 ft. tall) from Michigan winter? Burlap exterior wrap?

It will be the 1st winter with us. It is well-rooted and fairly strong. Thank you.

Answer

First, determine the botanical name of your cherry tree and look up its hardiness zone, then go to the USDA hardiness zone map to see if your tree can be grown successfully in your zip code. If  the tree is in the correct hardiness zone you should not have to protect it.
