New growth on some of my my potted spider plants (AKA airplane plants) comes in black and twisted.
I've been growing them for 30-some years; this only started in the last several years. Any idea what causes it?
Answer
Dear Houseplanter! Spider Plants are susceptible to chemicals in the water. Has your water changed? This is hard to know unless at one point you were using distilled water or you moved and changed from one water company to another. If you aren't using distilled water, maybe you should change to it. Also, water only when the soil feels dry. I suspect that since you have been growing this plant for so long, that you know about watering it!
