Why are all of my houseplants getting diseases on the roots and dying?

I am not over or under watering the plants. I provide them with adequate nutrients yet they are dying. More than 20 have died in the last six months. The plants are receiving adequate sun light.

I am sorry to hear of this seeming epidemic of your house plants.  I wonder if this is a problem with the soil that you are using, which may be infected with a disease or  a microscopic  pest.  I  suggest that you contact the Agricultural Extension Service.  They will probably want a sample of the roots of the affected plants, as well as a soil sample.  Here is contact information for the Philadelphia County Extension Service:
