What if someone with experience wanted to garden traditionally, using a small tractor to plow and cultivate instead of being limited to raised beds?

Answer

The main consideration with a tractor is not to use it when the soil is damp.  If you can take the soil in your fist and squeeze, and the clump stays together it is too wet to plow.  Drier is better.  Put the soil amendment on before you plow.  An old wives tale is that plowing late in the day discourages weed growth.  Not sure there is any truth to it!  Best of luck.  ep
