Lawn grass problem

What can I do to have problem area in my front yard start growing as it should? Can I send in a sample? I have a problem with a small area (about 15X15) in my front lawn area. The grass always keeps dying and it has been that way for about a decade. No matter what I have tried, it doesn't grow. I used grub killer, start up fertilizer, and various other products. My local yard care center says that the soil has almost no fertility so I have been using a lot of fertilizer but still getting no results. They suggested that I try your website and send in a sample so that you can test it. Please advise and let me know if you can help me and if I need to send a sample, please provide instructions, possible costs, etc.

Look forward to your reply.
