Freedom Tree (apple tree). I own 2. One is a younger tree about 1 year old, the other is 30 years old.

Both have leaves that appear to be dying. The leaves are spotted with yellow and light green spots and crumbling leaves are withering.

Answer

Your freedom tree is an apple tree and the yellow spots are an indication of cedar apple rust. The spores come from infected juniper plants. A fuguscide can be applied in early spring before the apple tree blossums to prevent the rust from being established on the apple tree. Multiple treatments are requred. Follow the instrucions on the  label.
