can beach and water be used to treat a frost crack in a snow fountain tree>?

6 year old tree is nine feet tall and appears to be healthy.

Answer

The answer to your question is no. Frost cracks usually happen on the southern side of trees due to temperature fluctuation. Young trees can be protected by wrapping the trunk in kraft paper or strips of burlap in late fall or applying a coat of whitewash, or tying a wide board upright over the affected area. Frost cracks provide conditions favorable for wood decay fungus. The tree sounds healthy otherwise but if you would like to have further advice I recommend getting in touch with a certified arborist in your area.
