How should I care for a Pink Flamingo plant in my home? Also what has caused a leaf to look as though it was cut?
Answer
Jacopbinia carnosa is a tropical plant that blooms in summer when grown outdoors in the shade. If planted in a pot it can be brought indoors in colder regions to overwinter. Chances are that it will not bloom indoors. In the dormant winter months, move the plant to acool room, about 55 degrees in full sun of a south facing window. Feed every two weeks with a balanced fertilizer. Adding humidity by placing on a tray of moist stones will help. Prune back to 8 to 12 inches in March and place outside when there is no danger of frost.
