Is it ok to purchase & plant shrubs now (fall)?

I am concerned that container shrubs may be stressed from sitting in hot/dry conditions over summer. Or, should I wait for fresh stock in spring? Thanks!

Answer

Fall is a good time of the year for planting trees and shrubs. They will grow roots and get established in the cooler weather. Make sure there is good drainage and that they are not marginally hardy when you purchase them.
