Answer

In order to give you good information we would need some important information from you. Are you thinking of plants that would create blossom throughout the gardening season from spring to fall?   Some things to think about would be these points: What exposure will the plants have?  How much sun/shade will they have?  When would they get the sun - morning, afternoon, all day?  Will the plants be in an area with a tree canopy?  Are there boggy spots in the area you plan to use?  What else is in the area? Generally speaking, you could go to a garden center to see what is potted and in bloom now, what will be coming into bloom in the fall, what blooms in the spring, and the best times to plant everything.  You will be able to get information on  the requirements for the culture of the plants.  Also, you would want to consider the space in which you are planning to plant.  Do  you want tall plants, spreading plants?  Would you like to have a graduated height effect? Are you partial to particular colors?  I really think your best option is get to a good plant nursery in your area.  The staff should be knowledgeable and able to help when you describe your situation and what you think you would like.  Please feel free to get back to us, though, if you can provide us with some of the information as suggested above.
