Is it ok to plant hydrangea and crapemyrtle now (October and November)?

Answer

Dear Gardener:  You are a little late, but you can still plant these plants since they are deciduous.  I would hesitate to advise planting evergreen plants this late.  Be sure to water well when you plant.  The soil is very dry now, so water very well.  Also, be sure that the plants remain moist until the ground freezes, around Christmas eve in our area, as watering is difficult after the ground freezes.
