Where can I find a Katsura tree (Cercidiphyllum japonicum) to sample the fall fragrance in Philadelphia?

Answer

The Katsura tree (Cercidiphyllum japonicum) is a signature tree of the Morris Arboretum. At 88 ft tall, it is a state champion. According to Philadelphia Trees; a field guide to the City and the Surrounding Delaware Valley, you'll find Katsura trees at Fairmount Park, Centennial Arboretum, Barnes Arboretum in Merion Station, Chanticleer, and Longwood Gardens, in addition to the Morris Arboretum champion.  If you are a member of PHS you may borrow a copy of this field guide, along with many other excellent tree books, from the PHS library.

Hope this helps.
