Can you identify this plant for me?

Answer

What a wonderful heirloom plant! What you have is a Ti Plant, Cordyline fruticose. It looks pretty healthy so you must be doing something  right. It wants bright light and evenly moist soil. Be careful not to overwater it, which could damage to the roots. Fertilize lightly in the spring.

With a plant that old, you want to repot when the roots fill the container. Move it to container no more than an inch more in diameter that the existing pot, using fresh potting mix. If you want to maintain its size, you can repot in the same container after lightly pruning the roots to fit.

Good luck with many more years of enjoying your plant!
