What tree is this seed pod from?
On a trip to Washington D.C., I found this seed pod and am curious what deciduous tree has a pod like this? Pod is about 7 inches long.

It looks like a magnolia seed pod (technically, it's not a pod, it's an aggregate of follicles), although I can't say which kind of magnolia.
